Have you ever been tempted to make your own infused edibles, desserts, or drinks, but not sure how to make good-tasting concoctions at your preferred dosage? I’ve had success making cookies, but that’s the extent of my experimentation with infused edibles–Until I came across the recipes in this article (granola bars, smokin’ mac and cheese, peanut butter cookies, chocolate-dipped strawberries, etc.). I’m inspired to experiment more!
I recommend checking out the following article for some of the most popular infused recipes, how to make infused oil and butter and calculate the proper dosage.
When it comes to infused drinks or edibles I always caution people, “You can always add (to your edible consumption), but you can never take away!” Dosing is critically important, and there are a few things to be aware of before you ingest. Always wait 90-120 minutes after taking the edible before deciding to consume more. If you choose to take more, it’s best to do so in small increments. The effects from edibles can last 4+ hours, so plan accordingly.
If you take edibles on a full stomach, the psychoactive effects will tend to be muted. Always be very careful if you decide to ingest more. Should you purchase a commercially made infused edible, such as a chocolate bar, start with no more than 10mg, which may be one or two squares of the chocolate bar–definitely do not consume the entire bar. Remember, these bars are not meant to be a snack; they’re medicated edibles and should be consumed in small doses and with caution.
If you have children, it goes without saying that you must safely secure your cannabis edibles and creations, as your goodies will appear both innocent and tempting to little ones.
